Paoli Presbyterian Church and Paoli United Methodist Church are jointly sponsoring SERVE DAY 2024 on April 13.  Together, in the name of Jesus, we will serve individuals and organizations in Paoli and Malvern, and in the city of Chester.

We will gather at Paoli UMC at 8:30am for a light breakfast, fellowship, and worship.

"I can't participate on April 13th! How can I help!?" There are plenty of ways to contribute in advance of the date...

• Drop off diapers and baby needs at Paoli Presbyterian on Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday 9-noon
• Food items for the Caring for Friends snack bags at Paoli Methodist: (single serving...) juice boxes, oatmeal boxes, pudding backs, apple sauce, peanut butter crackers, raisin boxes, (soft) breakfast cereal bars, single server coffee packets, tea bags.

Good Works
With our ministry partners at Good Works, we will undertake home repairs for a Phoenixville area family. Volunteers should report to the job site (yet to be determined). Anyone who wants to stay and work until 3 would be welcome. Wear boots and gloves. Tools provided.

Diapers and Baby Needs
The Sunday school kids at Paoli Pres. will lead us in collecting diapers, wipes and other infant needs for the Mother-Baby Program at CityTeam in Chester. You can drop off donations at Paoli Pres. on Palm Sunday (March 24) or Easter (March 31). The children will pack the items on the Day of Service.

Helping our Neighbors / Spring Cleaning Yard work
Some of our neighbors, because of age or disability, could use some help maintaining their properties, especially after the winter. We will send teams to two homes in the area where we can do lawn cleanup, debris removal and whatever may be required.

Greeting cards for people in need of prayer
Everybody could use a little cheering up, right? Volunteers will gather at Paoli Pres to write cards for people on each church's prayer list, plus mission partners and others. (Teachers? Shut-ins?) Children and families are invited to decorate cards.

Caring for Friends Snack Bags
We will assemble snack bags, placing 6-9 items in a bag for homebound seniors, people living on the streets or in shelters, and children and their families in need. The bags consist of a variety of breakfast and snack items, a caring note, and a drink! This is a great family activity, as we take kids as young as 8. Please stay until 2 if you are able to help with the Dinners.

Caring for Friends Dinners
We will gather at Paoli Methodist to prepare meals that will be frozen and delivered to homebound seniors. Meals will include a protein, a vegetable and a starch. Volunteers may be asked to cut, sort or pack the food.

Hope Cafe at CityTeam
CityTeam-Chester serves meals every day of the week in one of America's hardest-hit cities. Two Saturdays each month, it offers Hope Cafe – a restaurant-style meal with menus and table service. We will act as hosts and hostesses, servers, kitchen help and clean-up workers.
Volunteers needed: 14 to 20

Paoli Methodist Community Garden
We will gather at Paoli Methodist to prepare the community garden for the upcoming planting
season. Volunteers will be asked to work alongside community neighbors to clear plots and
ready them to planting, clean around plots and fenced areas and help spread mulch once the
areas have been prepared.
Two of our 17 plots are currently available if you are interested.
